70 YEARS OF FAMILY TRADITION – OLIVE GROVES OF MESSINIA, KALAMATA

Our family’s story in olive cultivation begins over seven decades ago, in the fertile lands of Messinia, just outside Kalamata.
A place where the sea breeze from the Messinian Gulf meets the warmth of the Mediterranean sun, and the hills are adorned with the silver-green leaves of olive trees shaped by the ancient winds of Mani.

For us, the olive tree has always been more than a crop.
It is heritage, identity, continuity.

From our grandfather—who inherited the first groves from his own father—to the present generation, the knowledge of the land, the timing, the pruning, the harvest, the pressing, has been passed on with care, pride, and respect.

We cultivate primarily the Koroneiki and Kalamon varieties, celebrated worldwide for their superior quality, aroma, and nutritional value.

CULTIVATION WITH RESPECT FOR THE LAND

We follow traditional cultivation practices, combined with modern agricultural understanding.
The soil is allowed to breathe and renew naturally.
Pruning is done thoughtfully, irrigation is minimal and wise, and biodiversity is protected.

We do not force the land.
We work with it, not against it.


HARVEST – A FAMILY CELEBRATION

Harvest season is not simply work — it is tradition.
A time when the entire family returns to the village:

  • children,
  • parents,
  • grandparents,
  • neighbors and lifelong friends.

The olives are collected carefully by hand or with gentle mechanical methods that protect the fruit.
We never allow olives to sit on the ground or wait for days.
The harvest is taken to the mill the same day, preserving freshness and nutritional value.

PRODUCTION – THE GOLD OF MESSINIA

Our olive oil is produced using cold extraction methods, never exceeding 27°C, ensuring the preservation of:

  • natural polyphenols
  • antioxidants
  • fresh vegetal aromas
  • rich flavors
  • and very low acidity

The result is Extra Virgin Olive Oil P.D.O. Kalamata
with aromas of fresh olive leaf, green fruit, light artichoke notes, and a gentle peppery finish.

This is the authentic identity of Messinia.
